Thank you for visiting the M-WAC. The Mid-West Athletic Conference is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The Mid-West Athletic Conference was founded in 1990 and is part of National Junior College Athletic Association, Region 24. There are nine schools that are members of the M-WAC.

01/24/2013 - DACC wins Men's Basketball Conference Title
Danville Area Community College Men's Basketball Team, ranked #4 Nationally, won their 2nd consecutive MWAC Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon, defeating Lincoln Land Community College 82-65. With the win, the Jaguars broke the All-Time season wins record at DACC (25), which was set in the 1971-72 season and tied in the 1999-2000 season. This is the 3rd Conference Championship in the History of DACC Basketball (1998, 2012, 2013).
DACC improves to 26-3 overall and 9-0 in the Conference and will play their final Conference game on Saturday, March 2nd at John Wood Community College.
01/24/2013 - Parkland College Hall of Fame
The Parkland College Foundation and Athletic Department are pleased to announce the 6th class of the Parkland College Athletic Hall of Fame. Five individuals and two teams will be inducted on Saturday February 16, 2013. They will be formally introduced at halftime of the Men's Basketball game versus John Wood CC of Quincy. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 4:00 with halftime beginning sometime after 4:30. The inductees will also be recognized in a private reception at the Tony Noel Center on the Parkland campus immediately after the game. Those selected for the Hall of Fame were nominated by former Parkland coaches and administrators and were finalized by the Hall of Fame committee.
11/6/2012 - Parkland Volleyball Seeded 3rd
The Parkland College Volleyball team has earned the #3 seed at the upcoming NJCAA D-II Volleyball Tournament to be held at Owens CC in Toledo, Ohio. The Cobras (42-7) will open play against the #14 seed, Catawba Valley NC (34-0), at 9 am on Thursday. Catawba is one of three undefeated teams in the 16 team field. With a victory, PC would play again at 5:30 pm against the winner of Moraine Valley and Central CC-Columbus NE. A loss in the morning game would send Parkland into a 10:00 consolation game on Friday. Parkland has played 12 matches against the other teams who have made the finals going 8-4 against them in the regular season.
11/4/2012 - Parkland and Lincoln Land Volleyball advance to Nationals
Region 24 sends two teams to the D-II Volleyball National Championship. Parkland College won the Distric P Championship going 2-0 at the Region tournament. Parkland defeated ICC and then LLCC for the championship. Lincoln Land had to play one extra match for the District O Championship, defeating Illinois Central College to give Lincoln Land their first birth to the National Championship.
11/3/2012 - ICC Men's Soccer Advances to Nationals
Illinois Central College will advance to the D-I Men's Soccer National Championship. For 2012 the Central District is sending two teams. Jefferson College won the championship and Illinois Central College will go as the runner up. The National Championship is taking place at Darton State in Albany Georgia, November 12-17.
10/09/2012 - Parkland Cobra News
Current Parkland College Volleyball assistant coach Gia Lewis-Smallwood will be inducted into the Champaign-Urbana Tribute to Olympic Athletes on Saturday October 13 at 1:00 at the monument in Dodds Park. The monument, located on Parkland Way, honors members of the C-U community who have participated as Olympians. She will be inducted along with fellow 2012 USA Olympic team members, Tyler McGill (swimming) and Nichole Millage (paralympian).
Former Cobra Baseball player Mark Carlson is umpiring in his 3rd playoff series. Carlson, who is completing his 12th year as a Major League Umpire, is working the Baltimore-New York Yankee series. He has previously worked the 2003 MLB All-Star game and the playoffs in 2007 and 2011.
Former Parkland College Men's Basketball Coach Nate Mast has recently authored and released a new book. The title is "Go Get That Scholarship! A Guide To College Basketball Recruiting for High School Players, Parents and Sports Fans." Available in paperback and for your Kindle at Amazon.com. This is Nate's attempt to help educate high school players and parents on the recruiting process and tips that could improve their chances along the way.
10/3/2012 - Lincoln Land in Top 10 in NJCAA Polls
Lincoln Land's volleyball team moved up two spots in the NJCAA poll today, moving to ninth in the country, the first time that the Logger volleyball program has ever reached as high.
9/25/2012 - Lincoln Land Volleyball Climbs in the NJCAA Polls
LLCC, on the heels of a 5-0 week, including a victory vs. Illinois Central College, reached its highest rank ever in the NJCAA National D-II Volleyball poll, climbing from 18th to 11th.
